Two paramedics who responded to the La Loche high school shooting last January were among the 23 heroes recognized with Royal Canadian Humane Association medals Monday.
First responders, Kalvin Jones and Darryl Morin, say they remember that day as though it was yesterday.

A teacher and a teacher’s aide were killed at the school and two brothers were also shot dead at a nearby home.
A teenage boy, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
