A 35-year-old Regina man is in custody and facing a number of charges — including theft under $5,000, obstruction, and driving offences — after being stopped on Highway 1 Friday evening.
RCMP say it happened at a traffic stop about eight kilometres west of Broadview, Sask.
When the driver was not cooperating with officers, RCMP closed the highway in both directions for about half an hour, for public safety reasons. It was re-opened once the man was arrested.
According to police, the suspect will be released for court in Moosomin. The date of his court appearance has not been released.
