Rainy days and Mondays always get me down. So says Richard and Karen Carpenter.
After being around Mosaic Stadium most of Friday, when it was 14 degrees, the last thing I honestly thought was, it would rain for the entire game! And beyond!!
Saturday morning, it was cloudy, but really waiting until 1pm to decide you are going to sock in and stay that way through the entire game. Well, it did let up a bit. I’m sure there were hot tubs and hot showers running late into Saturday night!
Adversity on the side of the players and the fans! Our Section 26 die-hards were there! And some people just had other opportunities NOT to be there – sure, you did!
The final game, 5pm start! Dress accordingly, this week is suppose to be sunny and warm – let’s hope that stays around an extra day.
Let’s give the old girl known as Taylor Field / Mosaic Stadium a kind and warm send off.
And what about Friday – a wonderful way to ramp up for the 90th birthday party for 620 CKRM. Great music from Alley Dawgs, Alex Runions and Bobby Wills.
Our listeners are dedicated and we all hope you enjoyed the party!
This Sunday was a day to catch up on some chores, if not sports!! If you don’t watch the NFL, this would have been the weekend with games from London UK and some other mind-blowing endings. As well, the Heritage Classic from Winnipeg! Nothing like seeing the “greats” of the game get together for an outdoor game! The latter enjoying a couple of very hefty 50/50 draws. Ours at Mosaic Stadium definitely paled in comparison!
Currently, Monday is showing a brilliance that might enable things to dry out! And are you preparing for the civic election? I think a bit of research is in order to make educated voting choices.
Onward and upward, I say! Make the most of this final full week in October!
The World Championship Broomball Tournament is coming to Regina. There is an orientation at Doubletree tonight around 6pm. They are looking for volunteers for next week.
