The Saskatoon Hilltops say they embarrassed and saddened after players taped a fellow teammate to a pole where he lost consciousness.
In a statement, the board of directors for the Saskatoon Hilltops says a tasteless joke was told by one player in the clubhouse and a few players reacted by taping up the 18-year-old.
The statement says the young man quickly regained consciousness, but he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The two players have been suspended.
Police investigated and concluded the two players did not intend to cause injury and the hospitalized teen chose not to pursue the matter.
The board says all the players have been told that the actions were not acceptable and the club has taken steps to ensure something like this does not happen again.
