The Saskatchewan-based Western Canadian Wheat Growers association is joining the Movember movement to fight cancer.
Wheat Growers executive director Robin Speer is hoping farmers will grow a mustache this month and open a dialogue about men’s health issues.
A team has been set up of Wheat Grower directors and other members under the title Wheat Growers Mo Bros.
He says men generally don’t talk about health issues, so the Movember movement is designed to break the barrier.
The focus is to raise awareness on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health issues.
Speer says money raised is for research and awareness programs to stop men from dying too young.
He has appealed to Wheat Grower members and all farmers and related businesses to get involved in Movember.
