Motorists are being warned about traffic changes on the Trans-Canada east of Regina effective Monday, November 7th.
As construction continues on the Regina Bypass, temporary traffic lights will be installed at the intersection of Gravel Pit Road and Highway 1 East.
Due to ongoing construction and changes in traffic flow, the decision was made to install the temporary traffic signals.
Trucks will also be hauling across the highway at the intersection for construction on the north side of Highway 1.
New speed limits will accompany the installation of the traffic lights.
The speed limit from the Regina city limits to the old Pilot Butte access road will now be 70 km/h.
From the old Pilot Butte access road to Balgonie the speed limit will be 80 km/h except through the construction zones, where the speed drops to 60 km/h.
Paved service roads on both sides of Highway 1 provide motorists with easy access to the intersections with traffic lights at Highway 48 and Gravel Pit Road.
Traffic will continue to be monitored through the winter.
