As the off-season begins for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the shopping list for the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be a large one as they look to rebound after a disappointing 5-13 campaign in what Chris Jones’s first season as Head Coach and General Manager.
“We got to get better on the offensive line, we have to find out who the next quarterback will be if Darian isn’t there,” Jones told reporters Monday at Mosaic Stadium one day after players cleaned out their lockers. “We also need to find a defensive back or two and get some more push on the defensive line.”
The topic of Durant was front and center after the 34 year old quarterback said Sunday talks aimed at keeping him a Rider have come to a standstill even though they have made an offer which they find to be satisfactory for both sides.
Jones wishes Durant had not gone public with that, but added Durant has earned the respect he can say what it wants and that he doesn’t want this to become a Jones versus Durant situation.
When asked to grade his team after the season, Jones said as the record indicates, they weren’t very good and the answer was “F”.
