A 31-year old woman is facing charges after a loss prevention officer was stabbed Saturday night in downtown Regina.
Police say the officer noticed a woman putting on a jacket inside a store and allegedly left the store without paying.
The officer approached that woman and tried making an arrest when a physical altercation occurred and the officer was stabbed. Despite being stabbed, the officer was still able to take the suspect into custody with a bag being seized that contained additional stolen merchandise.
He was taken to hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.
Janelle Sangwais is making a court appearance on the matter Monday.
