Movember has officially kicked off — and with it, comes the fundraisers.
To raise support and funds for men’s health — specifically prostate and testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention — Movember Regina will host a “Mo Session: A Night of Awareness” fundraiser at the Artful Dodger Sunday night.
Adam Kletchko, chair of Movember Regina, said he hopes people leave the event knowing Movember is about more than just growing a moustache.
“It’s very important to bring awareness to the real issues and the exact thing that Movember stands for, which is not keeping all your emotions in, but to get them out,” explained Kletchko.
The fundraiser goes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature special guests, who will speak to the importance of men’s health via personal experiences, and finish with a performance by local artist Nick Faye.
Tickets are $10 at the door; all proceeds will go towards Movember Foundation Canada.
Movember Regina is also taking over O’Hanlons Irish Pub for a Movember-themed moustache trivia Nov. 20.
