Tuesday was to be day 2 of the first degree murder trial of a teenager charged in the death of 16 year old Hannah Leflar, but the jury has been dismissed for the day.
While no explanation was given, jurors are scheduled to be back in the courtroom on Wednesday for what is scheduled to be a two week trial with around 20 witnesses being called.
The trial started yesterday with the Crown contending the accused was part of the plan to kill the Grade 11 Thom Collegiate student with the defence saying while the accused was in the home with another boy, who has already pleaded guilty, he did not know what was going to happen.
Leflar’s body was found inside her home on Garnet Street North in January of 2015.
The Crown has stated if the teenager is found guilty, they will seek to have him sentenced as an adult.
