Advocating for Saskatchewan’s 28 school boards and making sure the quality of education does not suffer in Saskatchewan is the main focus for the new president of the Saskatchewan School Board’s Association.
Shawn Davidson was elected to the position this week.
He is looking forward to rolling up his sleeves and getting down to business at a time when many are wondering about what the future of education in Saskatchewan holds.
One thing that may be proposed is amalgamation..
Davidson says that is something the association is opposed to as making decisions further away from communities represented by the various boards will not be good for kids.
Davidson is from the tiny community of Aneroid in the province’s southwest and is the chair of the Prairie South School Board.
