Usually I do whatever I can to avoid going to the east end of the city. Everything depends on the time if day. If it’s right after work at 10 o’clock in the morning, I’m fine. My dentist is located in the east end, so when I have to make an appointment it’s always right after work. You’ll never find me making my way out to that part of the city during rush hour unless my wife says I have to!
So, I was a little surprised at myself when I decided to make a trek out that way Saturday afternoon at about 5:30. It was for a great cause…our granddaughters.
We had the girls for a sleepover and instead of asking where they wanted to go for supper, my wife and I recommended a place…Chuck E. Cheese’s. Not surprisingly, the girls loved the idea.
When we got there it was a zoo. My wife and the girls went to grab a table while I stood in line for what seemed like an eternity to grab some food, drinks, and game tokens. I figured a large pizza, 4 drinks and 150 tokens would get the job done. I was close. Before our time was done I was up buying another 100 tokens for the girls. I wish I could say that the girls went through all of those tokens, but I must admit, I played my share as well, while my wife minded the tables and our jackets. Thanks honey!
I always thought that a Tim Horton’s franchise was a licence to print money. Well, you can add Chuck E. Cheese’s to that list. We were there about 2 1/2 hours and it was busy from the time we got there until the moment we left. If everyone spent as much as we did in that short time period, well, I can see why Chuck E. Cheese’s has been in business for as long as it has been.
Oh well, it was money well spent. We all had a great time and as we were pulling away to make our way home, Kelcey asked if we could do that again.
My answer was a resounding yes!
