Whether its a branding iron or a burning barrel to warm your hands, its time to “Light em up”!
Canadian Western Agribition doors are now open and the excitement builds to see who will walk away with the best of their breed banners. Nothing like friendly competition to build your brand!
The CWA branding iron is getting hot this morning as Past President, John Willmott officially opens Agribition with the “Burning of the Brand” ceremony.
It is worth taking a look at the names of Past Presidents and acknowledging how Canadian Western Agribition has developed and changed through their guidance.
Founding fathers of one of the largest agricultural shows in the world took an idea and made it happen. Generations of farmers and ranchers that have been apart of the show can regale stories and recollections for hours, days!
I know there are a few memories I have!
Each day action starts early and continues through the day.
620 CKRM will be there, hope you have time to stop and say hello to Brandon, Colin and Jamie. You might see me wandering through the barns (inhaler in hand!) I know you will probably see Jim Smalley searching out stories. I think Jim should just have his own booth at the show. How fun would that be!
And just as a side note, the Lighting Up also pertains to the Christmas season, its well underway! F. W. Hill Mall has an evening of Christmas cheer set for tomorrow (Tuesday) beginning at 6pm. The Santa Parade was a hit on Sunday. And now you have Candy Cane Lane to look forward to beginning November 30th.
