The Regina Pats will have a chance at making a formal bid for the 2018 Memorial Cup.
The Canadian Hockey League has announced Regina, Hamilton and Oshawa have been shortlisted for the Canadian junior hockey championship which will celebrate its 100th year in 2018.
The Canadian Hockey League will announce a host city for the event in February.
This year’s Memorial Cup goes in Windsor.
Regina last hosted the Memorial Cup in 2001 when the Red Deer Rebels captured the trophy.
The team also made a roster move Monday sending forward Jake Elmer to Kootenay for a 9th round pick in next year’s bantam draft.
Elmer is currently playing with Grande Prairie in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
