Grain Growers of Canada has elected a new president.
Jeff Nielsen has been elected to lead the farm group.
He represents the Western Barley Growers Association.
Art Enns is the new Vice president, representing the Prairie Oat Growers Association.
Outgoing president, Gary Stanford, held the position for three years and remains on the board of directors as past president.
He represents the Alberta Wheat Commission.
Also on the executive are Ben Martens of the Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers association and Margaret Hansen with the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association.
The association says 2017 will be an exciting year for agriculture with implementation of the Canada-European trade agreement, anticipated legislation for grain transportation, and ongoing consultations for the next federal-provincial Agriculture Policy Framework.
