More than 700 students and teachers piled into the Double Tree Hotel on Wednesday for its Annual Children’s Inner City School Christmas Luncheon.
The event is now in its 22nd year and sees volunteers from the Regina Police Service, Regina Fire and Protective Services, SIAST Aboriginal Police College, STARS Air Ambulance and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Students from Sacred Heart and Albert Street community schools were treated to a holiday meal and a visit from Santa Claus.
Inspector Cory Zaharuk with the Regina Police Service says the event is enjoyed by everyone involved each year.
“To interact in such a positive way, to recognize for everyone that we’re all human and we’re all trying our best to celebrate at this time of year,” said Zaharuk.
