SGI says effective January 1, it will cost 55 dollars instead of 22 to take a road test for a class 4 or 5 licence which includes car and motorcycles while the road test for a class 1, 2 or 3 licence will go up to 100 dollars from 40. Many more services are also going up as well
Written exams for all licences are going up from 10 dollars to 25.
SGI says this is the first time in more than 10 years that fees have gone up and that the additional costs are being covered by customers instead of all vehicle owners.
