On this January 20th, DJ Day; we have great weather, a new American President, the top ranked junior hockey team in Canada and perhaps our health!
What could possibly go wrong!
Your kids had a history lesson today. Maybe we all did. If you’re at home or you’re like many of us at the office, watching a business man turned television sensation take the oath of office to guide the most powerful country onward for the four years, there’s no doubt you have an opinion.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought someone like Trump would end up in this seat of power. BUT YES, a reality TV star has been totally embraced. Washington is a living model for Reality T.V. Most government is!
History in the making and around here the buzz was: checking stock markets; the family dynamics of Family Trump; dirty looks from across the aisle. We all look for different things.
Then the speech that the “Donald” made – how will that be dissected over the next number of hours, days!?
Nothing we can do about it now. Our neighbours to the south have elected someone we are all very leery of! Should we be? Time will tell.
THE WINTER BREAK!
Just what we needed! Beautiful weather. Was the plus 5 or 6 too warm.
It was a couple of years ago in January where it rained! When I walked outside that Saturday, I thought twice about driving to the east side of Regina. The Super Store parking lot was glare ice. I parked far enough from everyone. There was a page in the store and it solidified my worst thoughts.
“Would the owner of the white Pontiac, license ### ### please come to customer service.”
I KNEW IT!
Keep sharp when you drive around the city. Temperatures are dropping slightly this weekend.
WINTER MUSIC AND TRIPS
Live music through this weekend as there’s a “mid-winter music” event taking place. The days are starting to get longer and with nice weather why stay indoors. Fred Penner is playing at the Knox United Church. Venues like the Exchange also have some great entertainment.
Of course the Regina Pats are also in action with 2 home games – tonight and Sunday. A road trip to Swift Current tomorrow might be a lot of fun! Just make sure you give yourself lots of time. Get out and see the Number One Jr. Hockey Club in CANADA!
We take to the beaches on Wednesday. Looking forward to visiting another part of Mexico.
