The government has released reports from CEO’s of the various health regions across Saskatchewan after they toured seniors homes to see what is working and what needs to be improved.
Staffing levels were issues in nine health regions, where residents praised employees, but said they’re overworked and there’s too much for them to do.
Health minister Jim Reiter acknowledges that, but says the government has done a lot in that area to improve things like hiring 800 more full time employees since taking office.
With the move to consolidate all health regions into one giant one, there are some questions about whether or not these tours will continue. Reiter says they will because it is a very valuable tool.
