Regina buses are receiving improvements this year to be more accommodating for those with hearing impairments.
Brad Bells Director of Regina Transit says some new technology will be installed in 2017, that will make it easier for people who have trouble hearing to see their desired stop.
“We have audible announcements happening inside the buses,” says Bells. “It announces the next stop for customers. We’re going to purchase and install some hardware in the front which will be a ticker-tape monitor inside the bus which will then visually display the text of the next stop.”
Bells says all 115 buses will have the new technology before the end of the year.
