So the big thing out of the weekend for once isn’t a Trump thing. Which is nice actually. Thing is we’re under siege with stories about the Oscars and how could they possibly screw up the names of who won. Accidents happen, the bigger problem is why it took so long to correct said problem. In the end though it is shocking for people mainly because so few actually watched the Oscars. Heck I didn’t watch them I’m going off the stories just like everyone else. The bigger story here I think is that people just don’t watch award shows anymore. That’s a huge chunk of time to set a side and dedicate to watching something. Some people can’t do a two and a half hour movie let alone three but we expect them to make it through an award show of that length. Then you’ve got the commercials. It’s a live thing so you can’t forward through them and unlike the Superbowl no one cares. There will come a time when award shows disappear and honestly I don’t think anyones going to notice.
