Carmichael Outreach is moving.
After hearing delegations for and against rezoning of the corner of 12th and St. John, councillors decided to go ahead allowing for Carmichael Outreach to move to a facility which will allow them to do more.
There are concerns about what the move will do to the neighbourhood, but several councillors didn’t think that would be a problem with Councillor John Findura saying a sense of pride in the neighbourhood may develop because of what the new facility will bring.
Council also gave the go-ahead for a road in southeast Regina to be named after Glen Anaquod. That road will be completed once the Regina bypass is completed between Tower Road and Highway 33.
Anaquod, was an elder and residential school survivor from the Muscowpetung First Nation who died in 2011.
