Over the weekend, I was actually able to get into a bay at the carwash and give my vehicle a good cleaning. I had been trying to get in for days, but the bays were lined up two deep and I didn’t feel like waiting 45 minutes for a carwash. For the first time in a long time I wasn’t cringing whenever I pulled up to an intersection with a bunch of other cars. In fairness, there are more dirty vehicles out there than there are clean ones.
When I got home my wife said, “It must be nice to have a clean vehicle.” I knew where she was going with this. “It is” I said. “If you get over there right away, you might be able to get right in!” She left it at that, but I knew eventually I’d be the one who ended up washing her vehicle for her. I know how this works. She drops a hint and I end up getting done whatever it is she’s dropping the hint about.
The other day her “oil change” light lit up on her dashboard. Again, I knew I’d be the one responsible for getting that job done for her. Yesterday I decided that I would kill two birds with one stone. I called a friend of ours and booked a spot at his business for an oil change this morning after work, after which I’ll take her vehicle to the car wash and get it all cleaned up.
So today my wife and I swapped vehicles so all of this could get done, but I really don’t mind.
The way I look at it, a guy can never bank too many brownie points!
