A Canada-wide campaign for homelessness is underway this week with five University of Regina Students spending five days and nights living outside.
The Five Days for the Homeless Campaign raises money and takes donations for local homeless shelters around the country .
In Regina, the the Carmichael Outreach Centre will be receiving all the donations and funds collected by five Paul J. Hill School of Business students who are living essentially homeless.
Georgia Iannone, Five days Internal Director, says organizing the campaign has been an eye opener to how much work Carmichael does for the homeless community.
“You really don’t see all the services Carmichael provides,” says Iannone. “You do see they have services available but they do so much more. It’s such a deserving organization.”
She says they are hoping to raise 36-thousand dollars this year.
