Carmichael Outreach Centre in Regina received a big helping hand from Capital Auto Mall and Capital Cares on Thursday.
A 12 foot cube van was donated to the non-profit organization to aide with everyday operations.
Tyler Gray with Carmichael Outreach said the cube van will be a big change for the better for Carmichael.
“Right now we have this old mini van that we drive and it’s been used and abused and used again, so we’ve been just trying to do things through our personal vehicles and to have something that is actually the right size for an organization to do something like 250 moves and 63,000 meals, you can’t even begin to imagine the difference that it’s going to make,” Gray said.
Gray added Capital has been working with them over the last number of years, saying how great it is to see local businesses stepping up and helping non-profit organizations like themselves.
Bruce Axelson President of Capital Auto Group said they understand the needs of non-profit organizations and the struggle funding can become.
“Carmichael Outreach is a local charity that needs help, it’s non-profit and of course funding for them is always tough, so our staff often takes it upon themselves to go the extra mile to find funds or machinery that will help these organizations and make their lives a little easier,” Axelson said.
Carmichael Outreach located in downtown Regina is an organization with the ultimate goal of ending poverty and homelessness.
