Saskatoon’s Fire Department was called out to seven fires in a 12-hour period.
Between 2 and 4 a.m. Friday morning, fire fighters responded to five fires on Kolynchuk Crescent in Saskatoon’s Stonebridge neighbourhood: a car fire; a construction trailer caught fire; and there were three house fires.
Fire officials say 17 vehicles were dispatched to manage and put the fires out. The damage in the early morning fires alone is estimated at 450-thousand-dollars.
While Fire Investigators are working with the Saskatoon Police Department regarding the Stonebridge fires, the cause of those fires is undetermined at this time. No one was injured or evacuated.
Meanwhile, firefighters were also called out to two balcony fires Thursday night on Matheson Drive and Confederation Drive.
Both were considered accidental and were because smoking materials were not properly extinguished.
