After a 52 win season that garnered them first place overall in the WHL standings during the regular season, the Regina Pats are in a must-win situation on Friday.
The Swift Current Broncos have an opportunity to derail what has been a dream season for the Pats as the two teams meet in Game 5 of their WHL second round playoff series at the Brandt Centre leading the best-of-seven 3 games to 1.
All of Swift Current’s win have come in overtime during the series, so Head Coach and General Manager John Paddock doesn’t think a lot has to change for his team going in.
Paddock, appearing on 620 CKRM’s Sportscage Thursday afternoon, says the message hasn’t changed, and that the important thing is not to worry about a possible Game 6 or Game 7 as the big thing to do is to get the first hit, the first shot and work on things. He also feels it is not hard to get that message through to a group of young men because it is an experience they have likely faced before at some point in their hockey career.
620 CKRM will have the game for you starting with the pre-game show at 6:35 followed by the play-by-play at 7. A Regina win would mean Game 6 in Swift Current Saturday night with a Game 7 if needed going in Regina Monday.
