Yesterday after work I stopped at City Hall to pay a parking ticket. I can’t believe it. On April 6th I blogged about being ticket- free for a long time and how proud I was of myself. Then, exactly one week later, I got a parking ticket. I should have kept my stupid mouth shut!
As of July 1st, those suckers are going to cost a little more. I guess I should be happy that I only had to pay $20 instead of $30, but I’m sure I’ll be paying a few of the more expensive tickets somewhere down the road.
A spokesman for the city said the $10 increase for parking tickets had nothing to do with money. Yeah, right. Hey, save that baloney for the politicians. Trust me, it’s all about money. A parking meter makes a hell a lot more money when the car parked on the street beside it has a $30 ticket under the wiper blade.
Oh well, the meter person came by and I had no money plugged into the darn thing. Busted! There’s no one to blame but poor old me.
All I can do now is go on another long “ticket-free” run. The next time though, I won’t be blogging about it!
