Weyburn’s Dave “Tiger” Williams, who had a solid NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks, headlines a group of 5 athletes and 2 builders who will go into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame later this year.
On Thursday, Williams along with Lucas Makowsky of Regina (speedskating), Terry Livingstone of Regina (speedskating), Joan Phipps of Saskatoon (equestrian), and Guyle Fielder of Nipawin (hockey) were inducted in the athletes category with Lori Ebbesen of Regina (triathlon) and Saskatoon’s Stuart Cram (gymnastics) going in as builders.
Including the class of 2017, the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame now has 512 inductees–228 athletes, 160 builders and 124 teams.
There are also 51 different sports represented in the Hall.
The induction dinner will go Saturday, September 30 at the Conexus Arts Centre.
