Agriculture minister Lyle Stewart has presented four agriculture scholarships to students across Saskatchewan.
Amanda Mitchell of Bracken receives four thousand dollars toward agriculture-related post-secondary studies.
She is the grade prize winner after submitting a video telling the story of a piece of bread and describing her farm’s role in wheat production from seeding to harvest and beyond.
She wanted to show how food comes from real farms with real people.
Brayden Fraser of Churchbridge, Rachel Enns of Osler and Dena Lamb of Regina have each received runner-up scholarships of two thousand dollars.
Stewart says these young people are the future of farming and their enthusiasm for agriculture is inspiring.
