The search is on to find a contractor to tear down the old Mosaic Stadium.
Last Thursday, the city posted their pre-qualification on SaskTenders, where they hope to find an experienced company fit for the demolition.
Jill Hargrove, director of facility management services for the City of Regina, says finding a contractor comes in two stages.
“So, the first process is the pre-qualifications,” said Hargrove. “That phase closes near the end of May. Then, we’ll create a short-list. And then the second phase will be a response for a whole tender package.”
She adds the contractors do not have to be local — just qualified to do the demo.
The old stadium is still in use today for community programming and will continue to be until mid-July.
Tear down is set for September.
