Regina Pats 20-year-old forward, Dawson Leedahl has signed an entry level contract with the New York Rangers.
Leedahl, a Saskatoon native who went undrafted, recorded a career high 35 goals and 54 assists in 71 games this season, and has 23 points in 19 games this post season.
He came to the team in a trade with the Everett Silvertips prior to the season.
Leedahl says it is somewhat surreal to have this opportunity.
“You grow up your whole life wanting to play in the NHL as a little kid, so to get something like this is a big step towards it. “Leedahl said after the Pats practice in Seattle prior to Game 3 of the WHL Championship.
That Game 3 will go Tuesday night in an 8 o’clock start here on 620 CKRM.
