The union representing more than 200 employees at the Saskatchewan Transportation Company is taking the Wall Government to court.
A short advisory sent on Tuesday states Amalgamated Transit Local 1374 says they have brought forward an action which will “challenge the authority to close down STC.”
The Saskatchewan Party also released a statement, saying ” The Government of Saskatchewan has the authority to wind up the affairs of STC and will be advancing that position before the court in response to the ATU’s injunction.”
The Wall Government made the decision to shutter the STC as part of a cost-cutting measure in their 2017 spring budget
The injunction will be heard at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina Thursday.
