One-hundred-seventy-seven impaired driving charges were laid by RCMP around Saskatchewan during Road Safety Week.
The week ran from May 16th to 22nd, in total police initiated direct contact with 7748 vehicles.
In addition to the 177 impaired driving charges, 36 more were laid on the 20th of May alone, which just happened to be National Impaired Driving Day, where 32 check stops were set up across the province.
RCMP also laid 2237 traffic safety act charges during the week.
