The teenager who killed two teenage boys at a home in La Loche in January of 2016 before going to the community’s school where he killed two teachers and wounded seven others apologized to his victims during his sentencing hearing in Meadow Lake Friday morning.
The boy, who can’t be named because of his age at the time, pleaded guilty last fall to two counts of first degree murder, two counts of second degree murder and seven counts of attempted murder for the incident at the La Loche school in January of 2016.
The teenager addressed his victims in the courtroom telling substitute teacher Charlene Klyne who lost her sight because of the incident that he was sorry for ruining her life.
He also told the courtroom teachers Adam Wood and Marie Janvier were not targetted while apologizing to Janvier’s mother.
The sentencing hearing is being held to determine whether or not the boy will be sentenced as an adult.
