The Saskatchewan grainbelt has escaped from serious hail damage so far this growing season.
The latest report from the Canadian Crop Hail Association says a band of small hail storms occurred in early June in the Carlyle, Kenaston, Cudworth, Waldheim and Saskatoon areas.
These storms however, did not hurt cereal crops but some canola fields saw minor leaf damage.
In Manitoba, some soybean crops suffered severe damage after a storm hit near the U.S. border June 9th.
Hail claims total 208 in Manitoba.
In Alberta, pea sized hail caused minor damage to crops near Red Deer.
Golf ball sized hail struck near Buck Lake but seeding was late and many crops saw only minor loss.
