It is quite the honour for a city that is the birthplace of Rider Brendon Labatte, New York Giant Brett Jones, PGA Golfer Graham DeLaet, Stanley Cup champion Derrick Pouliot and one of the only KFC buffets in Canada.
The City of Weyburn is being recognized by MoneySense magazine, by being named the 5th best place to live in Canada.
The magazine took a variety of topics in making the rankings ranging from low crime rate to house affordability to the local economy.
Mayor Marcel Roy said it is a recognition that salutes the community as a whole.
“It just shows the caliber of both our city workers that provide the services for people, and the business that provide services for our people, and the people who are living in our community as a whole,”
Roy added it is a distinction the city can really use as it markets itself moving forward.
Moneysense ranked Regina at number 34 and Saskatoon at number 109.
