Big changes are planned for the City of Regina‘s website and mobile app.
Despite a tough budget year, the website was seen as a priority which was why the plan was not proposed after the city was left with a shortfall of millions of dollars earlier this year.
The city’s Allan Clay says the project is worth an estimated 1.255-million dollars.
“With about 860-thousand allocated for the first year,” Clay said. “and almost 400-thousand for year two. And because of the fact consulting services exceed almost 500-thousand dollars, we need council approval for that. So that’s the reason we were before council last week.”
Clay says they will focus on improving mobile use, accessibility , security and two-way communication.
They are also considering amalgamating the Design Regina site, Regina revitalization-dot-c-a and Welcome to Regina-dot-c-a.
The city last updated it’s website in 2008.
