So after interviewing Lindi Ortega this past Monday and getting a personal invite to visit with her, we couldn’t have been more impressed with her charming disposition/grace & class. We were very humbled when she accepted Donnies gifts from her Mother’s and Grandmothers antique jewelry. To our excitement, she asked if she could wear a few pieces during her performance at The Gateway Music Festival. The red broach in the middle of her black dress, she put on in front of us, looked spectacular and made Donnie very emotional, thinking how honoured her Grandma would be, because it was hers.
Lindi wowed the crowed with her passion and conviction singing her music and for us the only letdown was she didn’t sing long enough. It’s very rare that an artist will live up to our expectations and invoke a deeper appreciation of her talent.
Big shout out to Taron Cochrane and his beautiful family for the hospitality/invite and most importantly, connecting Lindi and I for a memorable interview. To the Gateway Festival organizers and volunteers a big congratulations for the big city vibe with the small town reception. Loved it, recommend it, get out and support it.
