A Facebook post by a Regina woman has gone viral in hopes that some good will come out of a devastating situation.
After discovering their northeast Regina home had been broken into, Kristin Vogel was shocked to find out the urn containing her mother’s ashes was one of the items stolen.
Vogel had just booked a trip to Mexico where she planned on spreading her mother’s ashes at the location where they took trips together before she lost her six year battle with cancer in December.
“I do believe people are good and they have good hearts,” Vogel said in an interview with 620 CKRM News. “I want to believe that the person who took them didn’t realize what it was. I’m not looking to incriminate anyone. I could care less about all theother physical things that were taken. But, for me, this has such an impact on my life.”
Vogel says at the same time she is overwhelmed by the support she has been given from people after posting the news on Facebook.
“It does show me that there is good people that genuinely care,” Vogel said. “I know this is something that no one would want to happen to them. The support is great, but at the end of the day, I just hope that because Regina is small, word will get out. Someone will realize and they will get them back to me.”
