Parched areas of Regina received some welcome rainfall on Sunday night and the rain will benefit some crops — however, it was very local in nature.
The rain will replenish some late-seeded crops but the moisture skipped the farm of Todd Lewis, about 50 kilometers southeast of Regina.
He says some fields could still use more rain to improve yields.
“Certainly for all the crops,” Lewis said. “But I don’t think we’ll see a lot of improvement if we do get a rain. Maybe if we did get some general rain, it would help some later-seeded crops.”
The weather office says rain in Regina ranged from a trace to 15 millimeters Sunday night.
