Last night after supper my wife and I were shuffling living room furniture, but not around the living room. We were moving it anywhere but the living room. Today is carpet cleaning day in the Lewis household. Fortunately, we don’t have a lot of carpet upstairs. The living room and the hallway, that’s it. The bedrooms and dining room are hardwood floors, so that’s where the furniture was going.
I have a buddy who owns a carpet cleaning company, so when the job needs to be done, he gets the call. The only thing I had to worry about was what to do with Max. I didn’t want to lock him up in one of the bedrooms while the carpet was getting cleaned, so I went for the easiest scenario, a haircut. Perfect. Good thinking Lewis!
Max hasn’t had a cut in a couple of months and the place I take him is just a few blocks from where we live. Problem solved. The carpet guy is coming over at 11. I’ll get him set up and then run Max over to get his curly locks chopped off. By the time he’s done getting clipped I should have all of the furniture back in place!
Then after 1, I have a guy coming over for our annual water heater servicing. By 1:30, it’ll be just me, Max, Charlie the cat, and nice clean carpets!
Don’t you just love it when things fall into place?
