Another warning from Regina police when it comes to leaving valuables inside your vehicle.
This warning is aimed at a new crime trend where those stealing vehicles are finding bank cards or credit cards that have the “tap” function on them.
That results in not only your vehicle being stolen, but your bank account likely being compromised with fraudulent purchases being made seeing the thief does not need your PIN number to complete a financial transaction.
In a release from Regina Police, they say “The blame for crime doesn’t belong with the victims; it belongs with the perpetrators, but they’re not about to change the status quo.”
Police add this problem can be averted if you do not leave valuables in your car, and take the necessary safety precautions to prevent vehicle theft like locking doors at all times or having an anti-theft device.
