The Ring Road Bridge over Victoria Avenue opened to traffic Wednesday.
Cooperative weather during construction season allowed the project to progress quickly resulting in the bridge opening one month earlier than scheduled.
This major rehabilitation work started in April with the replacement of the girders and concrete deck, asphalt surface and safety barriers to extend the service life of the overpass, saving future maintenance costs.
Based on 2015 data, the southbound bridge sees more than 21,000 vehicles per day.
The City of Regina invested 3-million dollars into the project.
