Unionized employees at Regina’s Evraz Place will not be going on strike after a tentative agreement was reached between the two sides.
On their website, United Steelworkers Union Locals 5890 and 6673 say an agreement has been reached and workers are expected to show up for work.
There will be a ratification meeting next Wednesday Sept. 13 at the Italian Club.
The strike was to have been effective 6 a.m. on Friday. The union and management have been in contract negotiations for more than a year.
Evraz makes steel and pipe for the petroleum industry. Approximately 900 people work at the plant in north Regina.
