The Regina Pats have some questions going into the 2017-18 season, but one of them may have been answered late Wednesday.
The team announced it has sent 19 year old goalie Kurtis Chapman to Kootenay for a conditional 6th round pick in the 2018 bantam draft.
Chapman, from Airdrie, AB, was a seventh round pick by the Pats in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
He spent the 2016-17 season as a member of the Portage Terriers of the MJHL. Chapman suited up in one game for Regina in 2015-16 and twice more in the 2016-17 season.
It means the job of backing up Tyler Brown at this time goes to Max Paddock
The Pats will continue the 2017 pre-season on Friday night against the Prince Albert Raiders at 7 p.m. at the Brandt Centre. It will be their last pre-season home game of the year.
The season opens September 22 in Brandon with the Wheat Kings back at the Brandt Centre the next night.
