Well, here we are, inching our way closer and closer to fall. This Friday afternoon, just after 2, the Autumnal Equinox will arrive leaving us all wondering how such a beautiful summer can slip by so quickly.
Even without the calendar, the signs of fall are still all around us. Yesterday there was a preseason NHL game on TV between Vancouver and the new Vegas Golden Knights. Wow. Hockey in Las Vegas. Who’d of seen that coming 10 years ago? I guess it’s time to switch my sports watching habits from the Blue Jays to the Maple Leafs. The Jays have been a big disappointment this year, but things actually are looking a lot brighter for the Leafs than they have in a long, long time.
I was out in the backyard playing with Max yesterday wondering just how much time I have left before I have to start dismantling my yard and putting everything away in the shed for another winter. I hate doing that. It’s like life just stops back there for 6 months. I just hate winter. I spent 6 winters in the Caribbean and I see nothing wrong with Santa showing up in a swimsuit on a 30 degree Christmas morning. I hate it when people say “It’s just not Christmas without snow.” Trust me, snow or not, it’s still Christmas.
I can’t believe that I used the word Christmas 3 times in that last paragraph. Uh oh, now I’ve mentioned it 4 times.
How many sleeps until, well, you know? I don’t want to mention that word again this morning.
