The Regina Police Service says an investigation into a potentially fatal substance — trafficked in Regina this summer — has revealed it contained fentanyl.
On June 22, police were dispatched to a residence in the 1800 block Osler Street to investigate two non-fatal overdoses that were suspicious in nature.
The substance the two apparently took was being trafficked as heroin.
However, this morning, results from a Health Canada analysis were released by Police. The substance has been confirmed as fentanyl.
Regina Police Service warn the public not to take chances with illegal drugs which could potentially be fatal.
