A family ranch south west of Maple Creek has been named the 52nd Provincial Heritage Property in Saskatchewan.
The historic Reesor Ranch is the first ranch in Saskatchewan to be bestowed of such honour.
Theresa Reesor is an operator at the ranch. She says it is an honour to receive the recognition.
“Really joyful, we’re excited about what this means for us and the family and the part of the Province that we live in. The first Provincial heritage for a ranch in Saskatchewan is really exciting for us, we can’t say enough.”
Scott Reesor is a rancher at the Reesor ranch. He says the ranch has a lot to offer for the average guest.
“We have cabins that we rent out, we a bed and breakfast that we offer with the rooms in the house. Our barn facility actually has 15 different rooms. Each of the rooms is dedicated to a pioneer family from the area with pictures and history about the different families.”
The Reesor ranch was founded in 1904, with the main buildings being built between 1906 and 1916.
