For the seventh straight year there is an increased number of students attending the University of Regina.
15-thousand, one-hundred, 89 students registered for the first day of class, up two-point-nine percent from last year.
Vianne Timmons, President and Vice Chancellor of the U of R says there are certain programs seeing the most growth.
“We’ve seen the most growth in our media, arts and performance faculty,” Timmons said. “Plus our science faculty is also up. So those are the two areas we’ve seen the most significant growth.”
The Univiersity has also seen a three-point two percent growth in credit hours being taught.
Since Timmons joined the University in 2008, enrollment has gone up over 30 percent.
